Central Coast traffic cameras: common questions
Are these Central Coast traffic cameras live?
+
Each image is the latest still snapshot published by Caltrans, loaded directly from Caltrans and refreshed on this page every 90 seconds while it is on screen. Caltrans updates most cameras every few minutes; open the Caltrans live view for streaming video where it is offered.
Do Caltrans traffic cameras give speeding tickets?
+
No. These are traffic-monitoring cameras used to watch congestion and incidents; they do not issue citations and Caltrans does not record or archive the footage. Automated enforcement in California is set by state law: speed cameras are limited to specific programs and red-light cameras are allowed in participating cities.
Which Central Coast highways have the most cameras?
+
US-101 (101), SR-1 (40), SR-68 (15), SR-156 (9), SR-17 (4). Use the highway links to jump straight to a route.
